Shared Harvest

About Us

We are the third generation farming 140 acres in the heart of Herefordshire and wish to enrich the land that we farm for the future generations to come. We therefore do not use any chemicals on the soil or crops, encouraging natural predators and rotating crops to avoid pests as far as is possible. We are mindful too that some of the harvest is to be shared back with nature.

As a family ourselves we are helping other families to become independent of supermarkets. We do not believe it is necessary to depend on supermarkets and we do not support them. £10 spent on an organic vegetable box brings £25 to the local economy: £10 spent in the supermarket brings just £14 (Source:New Economic Foundation). We supply an extensive range of organic goods, many in bulk quantities, delivered to your door to save you carrying them.

Our Bread

We believe that bread, being the ‘staff of life’ should be made using only the purest of ingredients and we can teach you how to make your own organic bread. We also sell our own fresh bread at the farmers markets that we support.

Our Hens

We have eggs available from our own hens which run freely on grass land and are fed on organic grains and fresh organic vegetables. We believe that we should only take from the hens, eggs that are surplus from their own requirements and we allow them to sit naturally if they become broody and the flock thus increases naturally. We do not believe in forcing them to lay with artifical light and therefore at certain times of the year we have fews eggs available. At such times we can supply eggs from a local organic farm but if you would prefer not to have these then please get in touch.

Supporting Our Local Community

We wish to support our local community by supplying produce from other local producers who share our philosophy and also by supporting like-minded projects.
We supply the range of “Foodies” books, written by local author, Joanne Roach in association with Herefordshire Healthy Schools Partnerships A percentage of all sales of these books goes to St Marys School at Fownhope for their Organic School Garden Project. We are also members of Herefordshire Food Links and the Wye Valley AONB, both of whom support and promote local producers.
